Named after Philip the Bold, who took possession of Santenay and its château in 1372 and later banned “disloyal” Gamay — the beginning of single-vineyard Burgundy. The estate sits across Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise.

Owned since 1997 by CA Grands Crus, a subsidiary of the Crédit Agricole Group. Certified Terra Vitis since 2004; organic certified since 2024. Up to 68 cuvées from a single winemaking site — each climat its own expression.
